I had the exciting opportunity to create the new logo for Heilige Herrie (Holy Noise), a unique project exploring the intersection of pop music and biblical references. With projects like POPBIBLE and curated Spotify playlists, Heilige Herrie brings together music lovers and fans of both pop culture and the Bible in a fresh, engaging way.
The POPBIBLE Project
One of the standout initiatives from Heilige Herrie is POPBIBLE, a comprehensive book that lists over 1001 pop songs with direct references, allusions, or nods to the Bible. The book includes songs that touch on biblical events, figures, or places, offering a musical exploration of scripture in a way that’s never been done before. The POPBIBLE can be downloaded, but you can also hold a physical copy in your hands, making it a true collector’s item.
The New Logo: Playful, Flexible, and Musical
When designing the new logo for Heilige Herrie, I wanted to maintain the playful spirit of the original while giving it a fresh, contemporary feel. The font choice mirrors the previous logo, ensuring continuity while providing a modern touch. The inclusion of both the Dutch and English text was essential for flexibility and broad accessibility.
A key feature of the logo is the recognizable “H,” which is sleek and easily adaptable for use as an app icon or favicon. The addition of a guitar icon reinforces the musical focus of the brand, making it immediately clear that Heilige Herrie is all about the intersection of music and faith.
A New Chapter for Heilige Herrie
With the new logo in place, Heilige Herrie is poised to continue growing and connecting people through music, faith, and community. The brand’s focus on curated playlists, such as “Prayers Up” and “Divine Disco Hits,” as well as its exploration of biblical themes in pop music, creates a unique space for musical exploration and discovery.
